The Emotional Stability Sequence, written by B.K.S. Iyengar, is a beautiful set of fifteen supported asana designed to nurture your emotional well-being. When done regularly, well (and with a little love), this sequence can work wonders!

The key is working well! The body needs to know the postures—really know them. Props aren’t there for collapsing into; while they support and replace the effort, the integrity of the asana remains as if the props weren’t even there. Every part of the body is alive and engaged in the pose, with the props offering just a little helping hand along the way.

It’s not the easiest thing to carve out two hours for quiet, restorative practice on your own. That’s why group practice is such a gift! Coming together in a shared space creates a supportive, encouraging atmosphere. Will you join me?
